Star Topology

The PC and LA4 are both connected to the same router, which is responsible for dynamically assigning IPs to all devices on the network.

How it works​

In this configuration, LA4 requests an IP address from the router via DHCP when it boots. The assigned IP is not fixed and may change between sessions depending on your router's settings.

Your PC must be connected to the same network (wired or wireless) as LA4.

When to use it​

Use star topology when:

  • LA4 needs to be accessible from multiple PCs on the same network
  • You are integrating LA4 into an existing studio or facility network
  • A dedicated direct ethernet connection to the PC is not practical
